History

The Old Burying Ground Foundation maintains this National Historic Site of Canada & Nova Scotia Heritage Property located in Halifax, Nova Scotia that was founded in 1749. Over the decades, more than 10,000 people were interred and many notable residents were laid to rest there. At the entrance stands the Welsford-Parker Monument, a memorial built in 1860 commemorating two Haligonians killed in the Crimean War. More History…
